About Tanner

Hi there! I'm Tanner and I recently graduated from NYU with an M. F. A. in musical theater writing. I have been a tutor since I was in high school and primarily worked with Pre-K and elementary school students. Over the past year, I've expanded to 8th and 9th grade students. What I love about tutoring is the opportunity to be a resource to a student and help them feel more confident in their own abilities. My goal with each student is to establish a relationship with them and then tailor my approach to fit their needs. One thing that distinguishes me from other tutors is that I prioritize process over product. This is also my own personal approach to how I study, as well as my writing process. I've found that equipping students with healthy study habits that show them how to take care of their mental health as they work is an invaluable tool that they can take with them beyond their academic careers.
