Hello! My name is Sarah, I reside in Astoria/LIC, Queens, with my partner and our fur babies. I am a passionate learner and creative individual. My background comes from Culinary Arts, Nursing and now as a Holistic Doula. I focus my practice as a Doula mainly on postpartum/infant care, as well as postnatal nutrition. Prior to becoming a Doula I was working in oncology nursing for a handful of years, but chose to close my chapter on oncology as it was too emotionally heavy for me as a young breast cancer previvor, who also lost her mother to the same disease. So, I decided to take my natural gifts of empathy and creativity to help heal woman in their postpartum phase of motherhood, while also helping them adapt to their new routine as a parent. I am very comfortable working in a home with animals. The more fluffy friends, the merrier! I am CPR, Birth + Postpartum Doula Certified and Covid-19 Vaccinated. Can't recommend Sarah highly enough! She worked with our family from when our son was 3 months old until he was 12 months old and started daycare. The things that stand out the most about Sarah are: 1) Her patience. Our son was a total COVID baby and really struggled in the beginning having anyone other than mom or dad take care of him. Sarah had the absolute patience of a saint through the early days when our son would scream for hours on end, always maintaining a calm, gentle presence. Eventually, she won him over and they developed a truly incredible bond. 2) Her ability to really get down on a child's level to connect with them. Any time I came in the room, I would find Sarah on the ground with our kiddo playing some new imaginative game while he dissolved in fits of hysterical laughter. She truly would do anything to make him smile. I really can't say enough good things about Sarah. She's become a part of our family and we're so lucky to have had her.
