Hi, I'm Tessa. I'm a maternal wellness specialist, certified postpartum and birth doula, and nursing student with a Bachelor's degree in Health and Nutrition Sciences. I have worked with children since age 15 and have over 5 years of professional newborn and postpartum care experience.

I specialize in supporting families during the newborn stage and provide calm, attentive care that helps parents rest and feel confident. My experience includes newborn care, feeding support, diapering, bathing, sleep routines, healthy meal preparation, play-based learning, homework help, and school pickups.

Credentials include Certified Postpartum Doula, Birth Doula, Holistic Fertility Doula, Breastfeeding Specialist (LER), Certified Childbirth Educator, and CPR/AED/BLS certification.

Tessa was everything we hoped for and more. She was pivotal in our first couple months home from the hospital. We always looked forward to the nights Tessa was with us - she has a very calm and reassuring presence that we appreciated, and she was helpful to us when we had questions through the newborn phase. Tessa provided overnight doula care for our newborn son during his first 2 months. As first-time parents navigating those early weeks — including bringing our son home after a short NICU stay — her care was comforting and reassuring.

She brought knowledge, patience, and calmness to the nights, thoughtfully answering our questions and easing our anxieties with explanations, practical guidance, and specific product recommendations. Tessa provided hands-on guidance, from recognizing signs of discomfort, to soothing a fussy baby, and of course, letting us catch up on sleep. As a lactation consultant, she was especially helpful in providing support around breastfeeding, pumping, and breastmilk management. She also consistently checked in on my recovery following a C-section, showing genuine care and attentiveness to both our baby and us as new parents.

She was communicative and flexible when schedule adjustments were needed. Having Tessa care for our son during those first months gave us much-needed rest, and we are grateful for her expertise and support.

Tessa was a joy to work with and exactly what we were looking for in a postpartum doula. Being first-time parents is very daunting and at times overwhelming but we felt more prepared after our six weeks with Tessa. While her background in nursing made her attractive on paper, her calm but confident demeanor is what really made us comfortable having her in our home and put us at ease. She helped us to feel more confidence with everything from bathing our baby to getting rid of a diaper rash. Of course, the time she provides us to sleep through the night is invaluable as well. We had one incident where our son wasn't behaving in his usual demeanor and she immediately noticed it and alerted us to it. She stayed calm and also went with us to the emergency room out of an abundance of caution. Having her there in that situation was very comforting. She is also a joy to be around, which is important when hiring someone who will be in your home and around your family. But of course, the biggest testimonial is how comfortable our son seems to be with Tessa and how well he took to her. We look forward to using her services in other capacities in the future. 

Tessa is a dedicated, caring, present caregiver for our infant son and we're so grateful to have her! She's been working with us since our son was 4 weeks old, as I was recovering from a c-section. Very prompt at coordinating / very reliable

We had a great experience working with Tessa as a post-partum night doula for six weeks. She took such great care of both myself and my son, and having her partnership was truly transformational for the post-partum experience. She set us both up for success but giving me great tips on his nighttime preferences and what was working for him. She also helped to establish a great nighttime routine that is now paying dividends in great sleep after our six weeks working together. I really appreciated how warm she was with my toddler as well. I can't wait to continue working with Tessa through other care services, and I know both of my kids will be in great hands.  

We hired Tessa to care for our newborn at around 5 weeks, for several months. Our baby was so happy every time he saw her. Tessa is great with children and supports the baby with different activities throughout the day. Tessa is caring, thoughtful, and experienced. She even helped identify a cow milk allergy that our baby has! I highly recommend hiring Tessa if you're looking for someone to care for your child, especially during the sensitive newborn stage. 

We first met Tessa the night we came home from the hospital with our daughter, and she immediately provided tons of support and reassurance to us as we began this new parenting journey. Throughout her care as a nighttime doula for us, she was communicative and helpful, not only in caring for our newborn, but also with lactating support and generally sharing lots of knowledge for both parents relating to sleeping, breathing, breastfeeding, and beyond.

I still remember one night where our daughter was being quite fussy, but the moment Tessa walked in and picked her up, she began to calm down and smile. Tessa's nighttime visits allowed my wife and I to catch up on sleep, gain confidence in the early stages of parenting, and learn more about what to expect from our newborn at each and every stage.

Tessa is amazing! As new parents we were reluctant to go online and select a complete stranger to watch our 4 month old but we are so glad we found Tessa here on Care. She very naturally took to our baby, and him to her, and we have hired for daytime, date nights and overnights. Highly recommend Tessa!

She's a natural with kids and brings a calm and warm presence to our home. Tessa was wonderful with our 8 month old son. We were in NYC for over a week and she babysat for us several times. She was very good at entertaining C and soothing him whenever he got upset. She was reliable and communicative. We will definitely use Tessa again the next time we are in NYC. 

Tessa was amazing with our now 15month old. She was calm, patient and very considered when interacting with him, allowing him space to discover and learn while also being able to establish clear and firm boundaries. Overall she was a warm and fun energy to have in our home and I always felt safe leaving our child in her care. 

Tessa was absolutely fantastic with our 9 month old son. She jumped right in and kept him happy and entertained with lots of play and music. Tessa was an absolute life saver. I traveled on business to New York and brought my 7 and 4 year old. She helped on an evening I had a dinner and a morning when I had meetings. The kids loved her and she was a fantastic communicator. She showed up on time and had a wonderful attitude. Would highly recommend!

Tessa cared for our young daughter (4-6 months) when I went back to work and needed extra help so I could spend time with my toddler.  She was caring and nurturing with her.  Read books and sang songs.  She was a delight to have be a part of the family.
