About Kathy

I am a very successful master s degree level teacher , teaching for 30 years while raising my own five children. With every child, I assume competence from the beginning of our time together. My areas of expertise include teaching children who learn differently; and teaching very young students who are just beginning. Teaching elementary-age children is a love of mine and I am highly successful with struggling readers, writers and math students and /or very young children who are just beginning to read, write and use math concepts. . I use an eclectic approach, and find the way that the child learns best. I use games and have many fun "tricks" to help older challenged students or children just beginning school. . My goal is to teach academic skills in a way that promotes confidence and takes away discouragement. To that end, I believe that parents know their child best and I place high value on their input. I am honored to be a teacher.
