About Ivy

Hello! My name is Ivy and I am honored to be considered as a possible literacy tutor for your child! With 20 years experience in education, my background spans teaching in diverse NYC elementary school classrooms, as well as mentoring other educators to elevate their instructional practices. Currently, I work with students one-on-one to strengthen their literacy skills. For the last two years I completed extensive training in dyslexia and Orton-Gillingham methodologies and I am now certified at the Associate Level by the Orton-Gillingham Academy to teach both dyslexic and struggling readers alike. The Orton-Gillingham Approach is widely considered the gold standard in Structured Literacy for teaching reading, spelling and writing to students with dyslexia or those with language-based learning differences. In short, whether your child has a language based learning disability, such as dyslexia, or just needs additional support, I am here to help!
