Working with special needs children is a passion of mine. For the past four years I've had the privilege of being part of a service group at my high school. I have been the leader of this group for the past two years. We visited a local elementary school every other week to work with the Special Education classes. We worked to develop their social and motor skills as well as advance their education and give them someone to play with. Every week in between our visits we would meet them at the YMCA to work with them in the pool. It was amazing to see some of the shyest, quietest kids come alive in the water.
