I first discovered my love for working with children with special needs while working at summer camp. From ADHD, to PTSD, to Autism, I found myself drawn to the children with all of these conditions. Upon graduating college last December, I got a job as a Special Education Tutor, which is basically the same thing as a paraprofessional. I work with two elementary school aged girls who both have cerebral palsy. They are both in wheelchairs and both amazing. This job has brought so much light into my life. While it is not an easy job (physically, mentally, or sometimes emotionally), I absolutely love it. I love my students in a way I've never loved anyone. I've never cared for anyone with special needs outside of a camp or school, but it is something I am confident I would be great at. I'm a quick learner and I'm easy to get along with. I am also CPR and first aid certified.
