Experience: 10 yrs
I am a professional nanny in San Francisco, specializing in infant care, share cares, sleep training, and have been working with children and their families for over 15 years. Reading books, singing songs and putting on puppet shows are not only fun, but also develop early literacy, and I'm a fan of all three activities! Bottle feeding (breast milk or formula), introducing solids, sleep training, developmental and age appropriate games and activities, and outings, are a large part of the day with a child. Daily visits to parks and playgrounds provides fresh air for children, and allows for movement and play in a secure and safe environment. When the children are older, Discovery Museum, Academy of Sciences, and the Randal Museum are all great resources to engage children. Additionally, I am a team player and I am happy to help with keeping the house tidy, laundry, preparing nutritious organic meals for the children(and making baby food!). I am also able to help with errands.
Andrea takes her job and her role as a family team member very seriously. She's engaged, loving, attentive, and fun, and I recommend her very highly. Andrea is tender, patient, and kind, and always brings a positive attitude to our home. I really appreciate how much she thinks about the whole child and what their unique needs are as they develop and start to show their budding personalities bit by bit over time. She's a creative problem-solver and manages to partner with parents and offer ideas without being overbearing or judgmental. Though there are a hundred things that I could say about what Andrea has brought to our family, her value as a caregiver is greater than the sum of her individual strengths. The two most important touch points for me are these: 1) our son loves her, and delights in seeing her every time she walks through the door; and 2) I always feel comfortable and happy when I walk out the door in the morning to go to work.
