About Amna

Hello, my name is Amna :) I'm currently getting my masters in clinical mental health counseling at GW and have my bachelor of science in Psychology and Statistics. I have experience working with a wide array of disorders both clinically and as a tutor, including learning disabilities and Autism, and am also a part time assistant director at a tutoring center where I create learning plans and assess students ages 4-18. I started tutoring when I was 15 years old! I've worked at multiple tutoring centers such as Kumon and Mathnasium, and have learned through experience the most effective ways to tailor learning plans specific to a students needs and confidence level I aim to improve a students cognitive processing so they build skills during math tutoring that can be applied to other subject areas. I emphasize conceptual learning as opposed to memorization. I also help students develop study skills and work with their specific needs. You can always ask for my resume!
