About Alaina

I am a nurturing and passionate teacher with seven years of teaching experience. In addition to my K-6 Teaching Certificate, I am Florida Reading Certified and ESOL Endorsed. I love teaching foundational reading skills (phonics/phonemic awareness), reading comprehension, social-emotional skills, and facilitating interactive read-alouds. I taught kindergarten for four years and third grade for one year. In addition, I spent two years as a Reading and Math intervention teacher for grades K-6. At the peak of COVID, I transitioned to a public virtual school, where I spent four of my seven years in education. This experience gave me extensive expertise in creating personal, engaging, and purposeful learning experiences in a virtual setting. About me: I have been married for seven years to my best friend. My husband and I adore our four rescue cats: Maple, Blondie, Peter, and Gizmo! I love spending time outside in my hammock, reading, cooking, crafting, and spending time with my people!
