This job is to provide supervision for our 25-year-old daughter who is diagnosed with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and Seizure Disorder. We mainly need assistance during the afternoon hours indicated in this job posting, however, there may be times when we may need assistance in the morning or weekends, but those hours would be scheduled well in advanced. Our daughter does take some prescribed medications for her seizures and behavior, and we can have those meds prepared and ready for her to take at 2p.
Our daughter has a daily routine that is well established with her, and she generally does well when she is on her routine. She is verbal and talks mainly via echolalic language, but she is able to verbalize her wants and needs using simple words.
My wife works from home and can be available at times for consultation if needed. We have 2 small dogs, a Golden Retriever, and a house cat as pets. The dogs in general like to be upstairs with my wife in our bedroom where she works, and they usually go outside in our backyard ~2-3 times per day. They usually get fed between 4-5p by our youngest daughter. The small dogs like to bark and our Golden barks, but she also prefers to hang out with my wife until she comes downstairs to eat her lunch which is usually around 1p.
I usually get home from work between 6p and 6:30p most days but there are some days where I'm able to get off a bit earlier. I work for a school district, so I'll be home during the months of June and July.
