Hi, my name is Sara and I am currently preparing my home to begin providing childcare for preschool aged children in the area. I do plan to pursue getting licensed as both a childcare and preschool program. We are doing some remodeling of our downstairs/childcare area and in the process of having a six foot privacy fence put up around the backyard. Although I will not be licensed yet, I do plan to begin providing care Monday, August 11th. Additionally I am in the final stages of also being licensed as a foster care home. I believe in quality over quantity and a lot of one-on-one attention and hands on learning, so I only plan on taking 6 full time children, ages 3 years old - 5 years old. I may leave a couple spots open for children 12+ months old but you must provide what is needed for their care; diapers, wipes, formula, bottles, safe sleeper, etc. The focus of Pollywogs is quality early childhood development, education and care. Rates are $150/week ($30/day) and are due bi-weekly, hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Here is a little background information on me; I love young children, early childhood is such a magical time in a child's life, and I cannot imagine any career for me that does not involve working with kids. I have an AS degree in Special Education & Early Childhood, and a BS degree in General Studies with an area of emphasis in Elementary & Special Education. In addition I have a great deal of course work in Child Development. I formerly taught preschool for four years. I am excited for this new career adventure! Depending on enrollment, I may sometimes have a friend helping me part-time, she is also a former teacher and holds a BS degree in Early Childhood Education. I can honestly tell you that I will provide a safe, loving, caring home environment for your child. I believe in treating others as you would like to be treated and will care for your child as I do my own. I am looking to care for a newborn - PreK age child 1-3 days a week, but will consider more days if needed. Also, I will provide a parents night out every few months at no cost. You can get your shopping done, go see a movie or just go back home to relax with no worries! If more evenings or weekends are needed, I can work with you on that as well. My son was in daycare and absolutely hated it! We both did actually. He would scream and cry for me to come back when I dropped him off. I would drive off feeling guilty & crying myself... wondering if he was in the right place. When I picked him up at night, he was always starving, thirsty and very quiet for the rest of the night. I wondered if he was being fed enough, given enough to drink & given enough attention. My son was constantly contracting viruses & infections from the different daycare centers we tried. After the last trip to the ER, I finally quit my job to stay home with him. He has not gotten sick once since he has been home with me and is so much happier. A little about me...married, college graduate, stay at home mom of 3 with 1 preschool aged child at home. My other two kids are grown and on their own. I have a degree in the healthcare field and hold a current CPR for Healthcare Providers Certification. This requires more intense training than a traditional "babysitters" CPR card. My home is newly re-modeled and will provide a clean, safe environment for your child to be in. Everything has been re-done and is fresh & new including the furniture. We have a large backyard with a wooden swing set that kids just love! Lots of indoor toys too! Since I already have one child at home, I am looking to add 1-2 children to focus on and care for. Your child will get the personal caring attention they deserve from a patient, loving mom. All meals, snacks & beverages will be provided by me. One less thing for busy parents to think about in the morning!
