Winter Semester (January-Mid March) "Every child is an artist"-Pablo Picasso. Discover the artist in your child! Class is taught using the program Procreate for Apple iPad, which is strongly recommended. Other programs may suffice, but we cannot promise a 1:1 comparison of lessons for any other programs used. Experience in procreate preferred but not required. We will study what makes a cartoon "anime," different methods, techniques, and all the formal elements you need to create your own anime art and characters. By using anime as a vehicle, they will build strong drawing skills that will help them in anything they want to draw. Skill challenges will include facial expressions, anatomy, and character building. Students will learn to create anime characters along with backgrounds and mood. They will learn to compose a scene.
