With numerous line-up changes, Big Bang Blues (BBB) has evolved its character and music to call it their own. Although mostly referred to as a Blues band, the members of BBB contend that it is an incomplete interpretation of music. Influenced by genres of Blues, Rhythm and Blues, Jazz, Funk and Rock, BBB bring a wide repertoire of music to the stage. The six-piece band creates its sound from the diverse influences brought in together by the six members who trace their roots to completely different backgrounds. From influences ranging from the Mississippi Delta Blues, to 60’s influences Blues-Rock to Indian Fusion to Metal the members have done it all in their previous musical careers. BBB has been brings to the Indian music scene a variety of sounds with unmatched energy. With a belief that we are part of that ancestry, learners and disciples of Blues prophets like Muddy Waters, BB King, Clapton, Janis Joplin, amongst others, we feel proud to be part of the evolution.. It respects both Indian and western styles and is set out to bring to you a unique combination of both. Fusing diverse varied backgrounds to coalesce into a ‘modern musical ensemble’ is the essence of the band Element 21 and its members. With primary focus on danceable groove-based compositions, the beats, rhythm and overall music of Element 21 has a flavour of club, rock, blues Indian R?ga-based Elements. The addictive grooves, melodious music and sensible lyrics are guaranteed to make you admire the flavour. Not concentrating solely on a particular niche, genre or group the ‘contemporary’ mass appeal is what the band aims to capture... without any compromise on the quality of music or compositions. As I got into performing groups at school and later on, professionally, I found that being a good player and contributing to the sounds of a great group was a real emotional thrill!! I've played Bass with a group called the Phat Cats for 13 years, mostly at Pappadeaux in The Woodlands where we are pretty much the house band. We play all styles including Jazz, RB, Soul, Rock and Country. I'm also the Bass player for the praise band at First Presbyterian Church of Conroe, so I'm pretty well versed in Contemporary Christian Music. i also have played with The Classix, led by Michael Aguilar of 'La Mafia' fame and songwriter/guitarist Michael Flores. I also played with John Carney and Phil Marquez, and subbed for the bass player that Jaime Casco uses. In Ohio, where I'm from, I played Bass and Tuba. Bass in a number of copy bands as well as several 'original' artists and I played on several recordings for them in many different styles. In 'Big Band Jazz' I played with the Jimmy Dorsey Band as well as the Baldwin-Wallace Jazz Ensemble and Alumni Band and an area band leader Harry Hershey and another. Don Turoso. On Tuba, I played with The Guy Lombardo Orchestra under the direction of Teddy Phillips (after Guy had passed). I also played bass with them. I also played Tuba for the Cleveland Chamber Symphony and Ohio Chamber Orchestra as well as the Akron Symphony, Canton Symphony and Mansfield Symphony as a sub for their regular players. I did play for The Moody Blues on one of their tour dates at Blossom Music Center as well as Lorrie Morgan for one of her Christmas tours on her Cleveland stop. Experience Teaching: I've taught band at all age levels. In Conroe at Cryar Intermediate I taught 5th and 6th graders for 14 years. Prior to that in Ohio I taught grades 5-12 for 16 years, including beginners, junior high, high school Concert Band, Marching Band and Jazz Ensemble. While the Band Graduate Assistant at the University of Akron, I conducted the third Concert band as well as writing drill, arranging music and instructing the University of Akron Marching Band.
