Rebel Art Summer Camps are full of exploration, creative excitement, and just plain fun! Much like our teen school year classes, we will offer the flexibility of having planned projects for those who don't necessarily have a clear idea of what to create, as well as more of an open studio for those who are ready to dive into all those projects in their heads (with the guidance of our teachers). We offer everything from drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, printmaking to sculpture. Please note that due to time constraints, we do not offer ceramics in this program during summer camps (please check out our Rebel Ceramics program if interested in working with ceramics). We break up the week by hosting camp in different locations. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays are hosted at the studio at 1444 South Main st., and Tuesdays/Thursdays we meet at local parks. This unique opportunity is only offered during summer camps and is incredibly special as it allows campers to experience working in plein air (from life outside) as well as in the studio for a complete art experience. Please note that we keep a close watch on the weather and air quality and will relocate to the studio if it will be too hot or poor air.

Join us for this 5 day camp in our Rebel Ceramics studio. Campers will be learning different hand-building techniques through different projects. Campers will be learning all about the clay body, the full ceramic process (clay/greenware/bone dry/bisque ware/glazed ceramic), different hand-building techniques, and underglazing. Lets get those hands dirty, and do a deep dive into some ceramic creativity! Note that our 4-7 year olds are hand-build only (not learning the pottery wheel). Please note that due to the nature of ceramics and the firing process, camper's artwork pieces will not be ready to take home on the last day, but will need to be picked up at a later date. If you or your artist would like to submit an art piece to be shown in this year's art show, please register here. Once we receive your registration, we will send you follow-up information on how to choose your piece, giving your artwork a name, framing or thinking through how the art should be displayed. Please note that we do require that 2D pieces on paper or canvas are framed, and we will explain framing in the follow-up information.
