New Orleans neighborhoods are unique and all offer a special look at Louisiana history. The tour begins with the Creole quarters. In these neighborhoods (the Old Square, Faubourg Tremé, Fauboug Marigny, etc.) French and Creole were the dominant languages until the 1950s. The tour ends in American neighborhoods (Lakeview, Carrolton, Garden District, etc.) founded in the early 19th century. The presentation of each corner of the city is dotted with anecdotes about the famous characters who once lived in the City of Creoles. This minibus tour offers you an overview of the history of the area. The minibus stops several times more so that participants can get off to take pictures or simply see more closely the sights and monuments visited. The tour is a 75-minute guided tour of the Laura Plantation main house, gardens and slave quarters. Located on the West bank of the Mississippi in the heart of Plantation Country. The main house dates from 1805 and has been restored to the time when it functioned as both a family home and the office for the sugar plantation. Continue the tour on the grounds with 12 buildings on the National Register. After your plantation tour we will head down to Westwego Louisiana where you have a chance to enjoy a sit down lunch (AT OWN EXPENSE). After lunch we will take you across the Cajun Swamp where you take a 90 minutes cover pontoon low-speed boat ride. The Captains will navigate their way through the swamp. You will learn about Louisiana Wetlands, the inhabitants of the swamp, the life and habits of the American Alligators.

Join us on a journey through two of New Orleans’ hallowed historical cemeteries. On this tour, your master storyteller will lead you through a maze of above-ground tombs in Masonic Cemetery #1. From burial customs and traditions, to the history of the Masons and Catholics in New Orleans. This tour will leave you with feelings of trepidation and excitement, as well as with a reverence for our city’s incredible history. This is a narrated 2-hour guided bus tour.

Home to historic mansions, hauntingly beautiful cemeteries and giant oak trees, this district is the romance of New Orleans.
