This 4-Day musical theater camp inspired by Hamilton uses the iconic Broadway musical to help campers develop the skills every performer needs to perform on a Broadway Stage (or the Congressional Floor!) Campers will spend the week singing, dancing, acting, and rehearsing for their Final Performance which will take place on the last day of camp! They’ll also be given the chance to discover what goes on “behind the scenes” helping to create costume pieces, sets, and props that they'll use in their final performance! Don’t worry – it’s not all work and no play here at Stages! We take advantage of the fun and freedom of summer, ensuring campers have time outside each day as well as free play (and rest). Broadway Mini-Stars uses the magic of musical theater to help ease the transition from toddler to preschooler by combining the Broadway & Me class you know and love with structured activities designed to encourage independence and help your little one adapt to a group classroom setting. Each week, little Broadway fans and caregivers are introduced to exciting new songs, characters, and stories as Broadway Musicals are brought to life by a team of professional teaching artists. After that, it’s time to dive into a process art activity inspired by the show of the week. Created by a professional performer turned early childhood development specialist, Broadway Mini-Stars is both entertaining and developmentally appropriate!

While the goal is drop-off, we understand that for many children, this will be their first separation experience. Parents will be allowed to stay in class with their child for as long as necessary and Prep teachers will work with parents to create a drop-off routine for each child that ensures both kiddos and their parents are comfortable. Parents and caregivers whose children feel comfortable being dropped off are welcome to stay at Soul City and hang out while classes are taking place but it is not required.

Liam, Purple Monkey’s Chief Toddler Officer is excited to welcome his little friends to the playroom this summer! The program is designed for children 3-5 years, offering a perfect blend of learning and fun. We will focus on nurturing young minds through a variety of activities that promote cognitive social and physical development including STEM, arts, movement, and foreign languages (French and Spanish). The program will also serve as a preschool preparation opportunity, bridging the gap between the home and school environments, and helping kids and parents work through separation anxiety.
