He began playing drums at the age of 2yrs old and continued his education by furthering his studies in jazz and contemporary music at a collegiate level around the U.S. He later studied music production and sound engineering. He has traveled the world providing music for some of the most prestigious venues on earth. His musical influences include Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers, Tony Williams, Chris Dave, Steve Gadd, Calvin Rogers and Aaron Spears to name a few. Delbert 's favorite thing about music is,” the power of the language itself. It has the ability to unite and evoke emotion”and his favorite thing about teaching music is, “giving and nurturing. I enjoy seeing growth and sharing my gift”. One of his favorite teaching experiences was to see one of my students work hard and get selected in the jazz band at school. Hard work pays off.
