My main instrument is bass (upright and electric) but I also play and teach guitar, piano and cello. I have a degree in Jazz Performance from a world renowned Conservatory in NYC where I studied with some of the most talented and famous jazz musicians alive. I adapt my lesson plans to the individual student#39;s needs and wants. Some of the topics I include in lessons are: theory, ear training, chords, song writing/composition, arranging, how to read standard notation, how to read chord symbol and many other things, I am happy to teach you songs from a recording or tab and will usually try to explain the musical concept behind the song. * Formal Education: BFA from New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music class of 2009Attended McGill University for 2 years before transferring to New School.Graduated Lawrence Senior HS in NY class of 2005, advanced Regents Diploma Private Education: Some of the many amazing musicians I've had the chance to learn from during my time in college include: Reggie Workman, William Parker, Junior Mance, Sy Johnson, Bill Kirschner, Buddy Booker, Andy McKee, Jeff Carney, Alexis Cuadrado, Rory Stuart, Dave Glasser, Armen Donelian, Alec Walkington, Bill Mahar, Fraser Hollins, Andre White, and many more. Performing Experience: I perform regularly in two bands in the Baltimore area. One is a metal-style band called Questioner (www.questioner.us)The other is a 1930's jazz/pop revival called String Theory. Some of the venues I've performed in include: The Ottobar, Hexagon, Charm City Art Space, Knitting Factory (NYC), Lit Lounge (NYC) Experience Teaching: I have taught music lessons both privately and through a store for over 8 years. I have experience as an administrator with a non-profit music program in Baltimore City in addition to several years teaching experience.
