I also studied music composition, theory, and recording. Teaching was a natural step because I am eager to share my passion for every aspect of music. I have taught privately throughout my musical career and held positions assistant teaching at college. I have also taught at summer art and band camps. As for teaching my philosophy is to meet the student on his or her level with what motivates and excites them. From there it is easy to integrate theory and craft, which are exciting elements themselves. I moved back to San Francisco in the summer of 2010 to be closer to my Sonoma County roots and to be once again be in the city I love. Here I have been working in film and audio production and actively performing and recording with several local bands and ensembles including a progressive folk duo, a jazz rock orchestra, and a film music ensemble. I hope to eventually go on to study music at the graduate level and compose music for films and dance. * Formal Education: I attended: The Evergreen State College B.A. Guitar, Composition, Engineering. U.C. Berkeley 1 year exchange Sonoma State university 1 year Private Education: I had 12 years of private instruction with various teachers on the west Coast. Performing Experience: I composed and performed full score for Shakespeare's "The Tempest" and several Flamenco dance performances during college. I toured throughout the western United States with progressive rock group Horsefly. I played throughout college career with various bands at local bars and venues. Currently Iam performing in local award winning ensemble "The Nanos Operetta" preparing for collaboration with a Russian dance company. Ijust finished full length album recorded professionally at Frogville Studios in Santa Fe and mixed by Oz Fritz at Prairie Sun studios in Cotati. Experience Teaching: Private teacher for ten years specializing in technique, folk styles, and songwriting. I taught private theory classes during college. Igave several workshops throughout college on Flamenco guitar styles and history. Itaught at various art summer camps including Kidder Creek in Scott Valley and Cinnabar Theater in Petaluma.
