I have been a student of music for 17 years. My musical influences include Bach, Bud Powell, and Radiohead and I also enjoy Neo-classical music. My teaching style can best be described as fun and challenging. In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to read music, play from the score, as well as learning how to improvise on a tune. I like to tell my students that improvisation is an important part of making music. My favorite thing about teaching is being able to help my students enjoy music and improvisation. I primarily teach jazz/classical piano, but I can also teach pop piano and improvisation as well. My approach as a teacher is to encourage students to enjoy music and improvisation and for them to enjoy practicing on their own.
