After studying one year at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, he moved to New York in 2008 and pursued his Bachelor’s Degree at the Bard College Conservatory of Music where he graduated in 2014. During his undergraduate studies Szilard studied French horn performance with Julie Landsman, Julia Pilant, Jeffrey Lang and Barbara Jostlein. From 2014 – 2017 he pursued his Master of Music Degree at the Frost School of Music at University of Miami where he studied with the famous Hollywood horn player Professor Richard Todd. During these three years Szilard was also Professor Todd’s Teaching Assistant. Szilard has performed with numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles including the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, Henry Mancini Orchestra, Miami City Ballet, New World Symphony, Naples Bach Ensemble, Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra in Hangzhou, China, South Florida Symphony and Palm Beach Symphony. He also participated in the Aspen Music Festival and School in 2010 and 2013. Most recently Szilard was invited to the Bard Music Festival as a guest artist, where he performed as principal horn.
