My mother, a concert violinist formally with the Vienna Woman’s Symphony the Vienna Philharmonic for Woman, who graduated from the Vienna Academy of music, stimulated my interest in music at an early age. I became interested in performing at age 11, began studying trumpet and percussion, and embarked on a 20 year adventure in music as a percussionist/drummer and vocalist that included working with artists such as Wendy Carlos, Pink Floyd, and Dave Brubeck. I love to teach!! I have been teaching most of my life both in the classroom and to individuals. My PhD is in Educational Psychology and I taught Doctoral and Undergraduate students in higher education for over 20 years. My other major teaching accomplishment was at Tommy’s Drum Shop in Austin. TX where I taught private lessons for five years to drum set players at all levels. I also feel qualified to teach Voice at any level to pop/jazz singers (not opera). I have enough piano skills to support the vocalists during lessons.
