I have been a student of music for 18 years. My musical influences include Tom Garling and Sonny Stitt, and I also enjoy composing original music. My teaching style can best be described as patient and personalized. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I aim to foster creativity while building strong technical foundations. In my lessons, you can expect to learn practical techniques, improvisation, and musical theory. I like to tell my students that music is a journey, and growth comes with consistent effort. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing my students? progress and confidence grow. My favorite performance is at the historic Green Mill. My students love that I make learning fun and approachable. I primarily teach trombone, but I can also teach Jazz Piano/Theory, Trumpet, and Violin.
