My name is Kennethand I'm a musician. I started taking piano lessons when I was 7 years old studying under Millicent Callobre until I was 15 years old. During that time, I performed live a couple times a year at recitals at the mall. I also won 1st place in a piano competition. Then, I took guitar lessons for about 3-5 years, studying under Quinn Shaw and also taking a bit of classical guitar lessons. I won 1st place with a friend performing a guitar cover at the LaBelle High School talent show. I have been playing guitar for about 20 years and have been in several local bands in Miami: Kiln Theory (lead guitarist), Bear Nine (acoustic guitar and keyboard), and In Boxes (trumpet, keyboard). We performed live at several venues in Miami including Churchill's Pub and Blackbird Ordinary. I have an artist Youtube channel with original songs and covers under the name Kenny D with some notable guitar songs being Aguas Calientes and a cover of Silent Night with more music to come. I was also the valedictorian of my high school (LaBelle High School). I graduated from Florida International University with dual B.S. degrees in computer and electrical engineering. I volunteered and performed live as guitarist for several churches in the praise band-Carlson Memorial United Methodist Church (6 years), Cornerstone Miami Church (1 year). I have taught guitar lessons for 6 months to a member of my previous church and his feedback was that he learned a lot. I also have some experience teaching in a different field of study (STEM) to elementary and middle school students at C2 Education. I was also the keyboardist for the LaBelle Middle School Jazz Band for 2-3 years and performed live at several local venues around LaBelle. Formal Education: LaBelle High School-Valedictorian; Florida International University-B.S., Computer Engineering, B.S., Electrical Engineering, GPA: 3.85 Private Education: I studied piano under Millicent Callobre for 8 years, performed at recitals, and studied guitar under Quinn Shaw for 2-3 years and 1-2 years of classical guitar lessons Performing Experience: I won 1st place in a piano competition and won 1st place in a high school talent show with a cover of an acoustic guitar song.
