With his jaw wired shut for six weeks during 8th grade, he studied the chords, tabs, and stylings of 60s legends Jimi Hendrix, Robby Krueger, and The Beatles, among others. Over the years, he developed his skills further by taking lessons in drums, piano, and guitar. He gained performance experience in the Bay Area by playing at such venues as Great American Music Hall, The Chapel, Swedish American Music Hall, Bimbo's, Rickshaw Stop, and Bottom of the Hill with acts such as Eyedress, La Luz, and Jessica Pratt. Though Luke can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are the aforementioned '60s groups which had great influence on his style of playing. Luke loves music because it has opened his mind and heart to all kinds of discoveries and loves teaching music because connecting with people is a great way to learn, laugh, and grow. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, Luke can help you expand and enhance your playing. Luke is excited to learn how he can help you reach your musical goals.
