When children learn in their own way they learn for life. Bright Beginnings Bilingual Program is committed in helping and guiding children to develop positive self-concept, enhance creativity, and enrich their own life socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. We recognize the importance of Play in a child's life, and we give them the freedom to try new ideas, develop their skills, and form friendships in a safe and supportive environment. To help each child reach their full potential, activities are tailored to their own individual needs and interests, and combine play with cognitive activity. Favorite activities have included planting a garden and watching it grow over time, which not only teaches about the process of nature but also encourages patience and curiosity. In addition to teaching the basics, like letters, numbers and shapes, we place a lot of emphasis on developing each child's social-emotional skills. As educators, we learn what makes each child happy and what helps each of them to feel comfortable learning and exploring freely. We teach them how to advocate for themselves and how to be a good friend to others. Our goal is to provide each child with the ingredients he or she needs to build a solid base and become a lifelong learner. What is NeighborSchools? We believe educating your child includes a well-rounded curriculum of music classes, dance classes, cooking projects and field trips. Children with music instruments--one of the many things the children experience at First Path Daycare CenterWe believe that an education that centers around experiences and excitement is the best way for a child to learn. While many daycare centers traditionally offer playtime and enhanced care services without a stronger emphasis on curriculum, our primary objective is and has always been to enrich and enhance the life of every child. Through our varied programs, your child (or children!) will learn very important life lessons right from the beginning. They will learn to be independent, while also learning about teamwork. They will learn the value of leadership, support, emotional responsibility, sharing, and more. At First Path Day Care Center, we have designed our curriculum to encompass many areas that will spark their imagination, encourage curiosity, and make learning fun so your children will be versatile and fully enriched. Field Trips are one of the many tools we use to encourage your children's love of learning at First Path Daycare Center.Over the years our parents have been delighted with the growth and nurturing that their children experience as part of their time with us, and were gracious enough to provide us with testimonials. We promise that as a parent considering First Path Daycare Center, you will be delighted with us too!

During a typical day at Maria's Family Daycare, when the children arrive, I greet them and show them how to remove their jackets and wash their hands. I tell them to play for a few minutes while Ms. Maria gets breakfast ready, and when they are finished, we wash hands, and they go back to playing while I clean up. Then we do diaper changes and wash hands to get ready for circle time. We sing the ABCs and start the day by asking who knows what day it is. I have songs for each day of the week. We break for a few minutes and get the materials ready for the next activity of the day. After that, we clean up and do some body exercises - sometimes we do free play and other times we make a circle and start to dance. I observe the children during this time and take notes. I use a curriculum program called Curriculo de Primera Infancia. Days include science, math, music, and reading time, all of which are tailored to our theme of the day. For example, children use plastic scissors to try to cut paper and show what is around them, and in our community. I have lots of photos and clothes for dress up in the Dramatic Play area - along with fruits and vegetables. I also teach them about healthy habits and the parts of the body. I share different cultures through food, language and photos. At mealtime, I show them how to sit well and use good manners to chew with their mouths closed and use a napkin. I show them it is important to eat healthily. I also show them how to discard leftovers in the trash and that we don't touch anything else until hands are washed and we have brushed our teeth. We have been providing a safe and nurturing environment for children since 2008. Parents' minds are at ease when they go to work or school, knowing that their child is cared for in all aspects of their developmental needs. We are a curriculum-based program. Because of my background in public and private schools, I've been able to work with teachers to learn what they need children to be prepared for when they enter school. Using this information, we mimic how a preschool classroom is. We have a structured schedule, with circle time, teaching them how to sit and share, and more, similar to a school setting but with age-appropriate learning. We have recess, art, music, and every day we do something educational, from math, reading, science, and more. We also do ongoing assessments and share this information with parents so we can work together in supporting their child's needs where they need assistance, while helping them master what they already know. We focus on supporting children's 5 important developmental domains such as Cognitive, Social/Emotional, Gross Motor, Fine Motor, and Language/Communication. We also value encouraging participation whenever possible, so even if we have a newborn - if the child is awake then we have them sit with us during activities like circle time. While they can't be verbal, they can still absorb the atmosphere and be hearing, seeing, and learning. We believe less is more, so we have a larger adult to children ratio than other child care programs. This maintains a calm and controlled environment when we don't exceed the number of children per adult ratio, and allows for individualized attention, which is essential. We love having kids of all ages, races, and genders because while we can focus on them as individuals, they also have the opportunity to grow up in a diverse setting. What is NeighborSchools? NeighborSchools helps experienced caregivers launch and operate licensed home daycares in Massachusetts. With better ratios and experienced caretakers, home daycare allows for more individualized attention for infants and toddlers. My program combines the structure and schedule of a typical preschool classroom with the comfort of a home environment. This helps children prepare for a transition into a kindergarten classroom. There is sensory play such as play dough or finger painting, time for pre-academics with letter and math games, read alouds, storytelling/story acting and other pre-writing activities. We spend a lot of time outdoors at two nearby parks to encourage free play and exploration and gross motor movement. We will have daily whole group meetings and activities as well as plenty of time for independent and group play. I encourage kids to step outside their comfort zone and try new things, even if it's hard. Maintaining routines and order is greatly beneficial and something I take seriously. Having clear and consistent boundaries and expectations makes everyone feel safe and respected. But while I firmly believe in structures and routines, there will be plenty of time for spontaneity and lots of fun! What is NeighborSchools? With a Master Degree in Early Education and care, My goal is to provide children from three months to age 6 with experiences and activities of learning that will enrich them in all levels of development. We use research based curricula for our child centered activities and believe that children learn best through culturally rich environments, meaningful play and consistent scheduling. Though we are a family based child care we believe in going into the community for a significant part of our learning. This gives our students an opportunity to see the world they are learning about from a real life point of view. Field trips to local libraries and other learning environments/events are scheduled on a regular basis. We also provide at no additional cost, three full meals and two snacks for full time students and are closely monitored by a nutrition education program which insures we offer what is known to be best for the children at the appropriate age. We also offer assistance with toilet training and self regulation skills for behavior challenged children. We are a full year program accepting private pay and voucher assisted clients.
