A family-oriented in-home daycare that offers a smaller setting than a childcare center where your child can feel like part of a family in a safe and loving environment. I have a Bachelor's degree in education with a minor in Psychology. I will help your child learn all of the fundamentals necessary for kindergarten while also having a place to engage socially with others and learn through play as well. The preschool aged children enjoy helping the younger children learn and the younger children in turn have flourished in this Montessori-style learning environment. I offer breakfast, a.m. and p.m. snack, along with lunch; all of this is included in tuition. I follow the food pyramid and make sure the children are eating a well-rounded meal and nutritious snacks that will fuel their bodies in a positive way. We play outside daily, unless severe weather prevents us from doing such. If this sounds like a place you think your child would enjoy, feel free to contact me to set up a time to visit.

Jennifer says "Very nurturing and positive environment for your children! I started sending my children here this year and have been very happy with all that my...

I would like to start out by telling you a little about the daycare. I am licensed through the state of Michigan (license # DF810363661). I have all the necessary training and background checks needed for licensing. I have training in First Aid and CPR, shaken baby, SIDS, and blood borne pathogens. I also have my degree in Child Care development. I have been in the daycare field for over 10 years I have worked at an in-home daycare as an assistant care giver. I was a lead teacher at a daycare center. I am now a mom of two. I believe that children need to explore and experience things first hand. A child's mind is like a sponge in the early years of life and allowing them to explore will help them become the best person they can. We offer many different hands on experience. We offer art and crafts, circle time, outside time, and large/small motor activities. We provide the breakfast, lunch, snacks, and drinks for the children. We are a part of the ACD Food Program. This is a program that reviews us quarterly to make sure we are serving healthy and nutritious food. I currently have 3 spots available. They can either be full or part time. Part time is anything under 20 hours and full time is anything over 20 hours. We are open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you would like to set up a tour please feel free to call me at (734) 383-9926 or email at fairydirtssister@aol.com. I hope to hear from you soon.

The YMCA Child Care Programs operate within the NAEYC (National Association for Education of Young Children) philosophy and that of the National YMCA. Programs and activities within are both developmentally appropriate and strive to enhance social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth. Our programs foster curiosity, creativity, and self- esteem by considering children’s abilities and interests. Child initiated and teacher supported play is an essential component of our program. Our Child Care programs attract children from a wide range of racial, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds by paying close attention to the needs of those knowing English as a second language; and socioeconomic groups by providing competitively priced programming, YMCA need based scholarships and working with DHS (Department of Human Services) clients. Respect for children’s home language and incorporation of them into the program is of high priority in assimilating those recently from non-English speaking countries. Children gain an appreciation of the aging process and the intergenerational connection with our senior population through ongoing active interactions with volunteer seniors from the local Foster Grandparents nonprofit program of Washtenaw County. The YMCA Character Development program is a part of every YMCA program. This program focuses on the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The staff and all participants are encouraged to learn and model these attributes, making it a part of our daily life. Each child has the right to feel safe and well cared for. Together, staff and parents will work to provide a secure and loving atmosphere for all the children in our programs. The Early Childhood programs strive to attend to the major indicators of quality: NAEYC child to staff ratios, ongoing and frequent interactions between caregivers and children, small groups, trained and educated teachers, parent involvement, developmentally appropriate activities and expectations, fully qualified and reliable support staff, and an experienced administrator. Thank you for your interest in the Ann Arbor YMCA Child Care Program. We are proud to share our centers with you and your family.
