Job description Tutoring Club Naperville/Plainfield helps students raise grades and improve test scores. We provide tutoring services for students of all academic levels, kindergarten through 12th grade. At Tutoring Club, our goal is to bring each student to the desired academic level as quickly as possible. We work to reduce stress and build confidence by creating an individualized program for each student. Tutors assist students by providing academic support for students in rigorous courses, serve as a role model to students, and assist students with organization and project planning. Tutors are expected to be active learners and mentors, not just content experts. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provide individualized instruction to students by (re)teaching subject material, study skills, test taking strategies, discussing testing techniques, working on solutions to problems, and assessing students' progress throughout the tutoring session. Promote productivity and learning by managing tutoring environment, keeping area free of unnecessary distractions, and increasing productivity and learning. Provide constructive feedback to students by using positive reinforcement techniques, while encouraging, motivating, and building confidence in students. Communicate student progress by documenting and updating student records and following up with staff. Job Specifications: Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work with students from 6th to 12th grade Ability to follow curriculum Ability to communicate effectively and clearly Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and duties Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions Ability to arrive for work on time Applicants should have: Mastery of an academic subject (Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Physics, Computer Science, English, History, Biology, Chemistry, Spanish, etc.) Patience and flexibility when working with students with different learning styles Great communication skills A passion for teaching and education A positive attitude Great SAT or ACT scores (a plus!) QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrates excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to multi-task. Ability to drive to meetings and service sites. Ability to perform occasional lifting of 50 (50) pounds or less. Ability to work in various positions/locations and perform various tasks such as running, jumping, crawling, stooping, etc. Ability to pass a state and federal background check. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Reports to Lead Behavior Therapist and BCBA or BCaBA. attending all trainings scheduled with BCBA, BCaBA, Case Manager or Staff Trainers as discussed Provide direct services to assigned clients by implementing all programs developed and/or approved by Director of Behavioral Services, Case Manager, BCBA or BCaBA. Collect and analyze data during each session and keep an accurate summary as agreed upon by the program. Prepare materials for programs based on specifications given by BCBA or Case Manager including: graph daily data prepare daily data for next session maintain organization of materials clean up after each session complete session summary after every session Attend all scheduled team meetings (with or without parent(s), and/or school team), providing observations and input about clients/ programs. Commit to and follow a weekly schedule with each assigned family. Repeating schedule to be updated in Central Reach. Notify Lead Behavior Therapist, Case Manager, or BCBA if student is not making progress or if there are any other concerns/new behaviors. Lead Therapist is expected to commit to at least six (6) months of service for each family on their caseload.

How you Will Spend Your Day: Demonstrate professionalism while representing the school's mission, philosophy, and programmatic approach while in the community, with other professionals, or at work-related events Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher or clinicians. Respectfully implement all programming provided by the educational team Implement student personal and intimate care plan as needed Implement all Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) provided by the educational team Implement crisis protocols, which may include physical crisis management procedures Maintain up-to-date crisis intervention certification Participate in a collaborative team setting by giving feedback and submitting ideas to the team as a member of the school community Accept and receive feedback provided by Administrators, Supervisors, Related Service Providers, Teachers and Lead IBI's Maintain confidentiality of all student records, information and personal details Participate in daily meetings Participate in trainings, staff meetings, in-service meetings and events as assigned Participate in swim program, recreational outings, and community outings **Please note that due to COVID-19 this position will be in-person 3 days and remote 2 days a week. This could change depending on the Governor's orders. The goal is to be 100% in-person when it is safe to do so.**
