I am an independent caregiver, caring for seniors whose needs consisted of needing assistance with gait, Parkinson's, congenital heart disease, dementia/Alzheimer's, broken hips, and recovering from surgeries. I have passed oral/topical medications. I have catheterized clients, and performed respite care. I have helped clients with grocery shopping, clothes shopping, taking them to church services, out to movies and plays, etc. I have been their caregiver, house cleaner, laundry service, and companion. Previously, I worked with an agency that served clients with special needs. I did this for 9 1/2 years and was required to be CMA, CPR and first aid certified.
I am passionate about what I do for several reasons, First of all, I respect them and the experiences they have to share. Second, because some can be a challenge but the lessons they teach are worth learning. Third, I find them to be very interesting and lovable. Fourth, because I think of my own parents and learned from them to respect and admire my elders. I also know one day this could be me and would hope someone nice would care for me and love me as they would their parents.
Would like to work about 20-25 hours weekly.
