Part-time Caregiver, During School Hours
Avg response < 12 hrs
I would love to help other seniors in the community that may need assistance with daily tasks or errands. My mother passed away from Alzheimer's two years ago after a long battle with the disease. I was her primary care giver immediately after my dad passed for the next 3 years (she lived with me and my family when my children were only 0-3 years), and for the following three years, I took care of her needs while she lived in full time care, until she passed. I understand how seniors/adults want to stay in their own home as long as possible, and I would love to help someone, or a family, keep their loved one at home as long as possible. My children are 7 and 8 years old and are in school so I am available between 10:00 - 2:00 p.m. each day. I am comfortable assisting with medical issues, especially diabetes. My 7-year-old son is a Type 1 diabetic who uses syringes, insulin pump, CGM monitor, blood glucose testing, administering Glucagon injections, site changes, etc. A few afternoons a week I could be available later than 2 p.m. for quick errands or meal prep, if your family members enjoy children! My two children looked forward to trips to the nursing home to visit their Nana, and had their "special" friends they loved to play with at the facility.
