About who needs care: Brief description of mom and her needs:
Currently lives with a daughter who is the primary caregiver
75-year-oldfemale, divorced, six kids (one passed away)
Has some mobility issues - hip surgery, degenerative disk disease (ruptured disks and meta plate put cervical spine area, experiences constant pain), minimal fall risk, gall bladder removed
Has some incontinence issues - bedwetting is sometimes an issue
Needs some assistance with making it to doctor's appointments when experiencing a lot of pain
Requires assistance with cleaning up after herself
Needs reminders to take medication routinely - taking multiple medications for, chronic pain from disc ruptures and operations, hip replacement, incontinence, high blood pressure
Experiences depression and loneliness
She is interested in many things but lately has been suffering from a lack of motivation and interest in anything, which I think mostly stems from her being lonely
She loves gardening, crafts, watching TV, cooking, and making gourmet cuisine dishes
Not sure about an ideal day, but would like to see her more active and engaged in her life
About the care needs: We would like them to be kind and compassionate but firm. My mother has some mental health struggles that we are working to get addressed so it would be ideal if the care coordinator/caregiver has skill dealing with senior individuals with some mental health challenges
