About Sequoia Senior Solutions, Inc.

I started Sequoia Senior Solutions in 2003 with my husband, Stanton Lawson. Stan was raised in Dillon Beach and his family has been in the area for four generations. We met in Italy in 1977, while he was attending a student exchange program with University of California. I was at the time working as a nurse at the University Hospital of Padua. My professional experience is primarily in the health care field, but my very first job was at an assisted living facility in Italy. I embraced the opportunity of starting acompany that serves seniors while in their home, as I grew up with my grandparents and saw the difference in the lives of those who aged at home versus those who were moved in an institutional environment. At Sequoia Senior Solutions we provide services that range from companionship, to light housekeeping, medications reminders, errands and transportation, assistance with showering and personal care, and more. What makes us different is the amount of training we provide to our caregivers. Our formal classes includes: Communication, Bed Care, Alzheimers and Dementia, Diabetes, Parkinson's, Stroke, and Arthritis. We also provide on the job training on an as needed basis to assure our clients receive the specific care they require. We are very strict in the selection and retention of our caregivers, as we require great compassion and the ability to follow the many company procedures we have adopted for our client s safety and peace of mind.
