Marigold Children's Garden is a play-based, organic, home daycare and preschool that provides care and developmentally-appropriate learning experiences for children, ages 2 months to 7 years. Owner and lead-teacher, Rachel, has three years of teaching experience in Waldorf Early Childhood programs, so the Waldorf approach guides her daily practice. The space is set up like a Waldorf Early Childhood classroom. It is a bright, warm, welcoming space with natural materials for children to play with. There is an area sectioned off for infants, and an area for older toddlers and preschoolers that includes a block play area, baby dolls, and a play house with a pretend kitchen. There is no T.V., no electronics of any kind, no plastic toys.

Every day, children spend 2-4 hours outdoors (in all types of weather), gardening, playing in the water table, in the "woods" (in our fenced backyard), and playing in the sandbox. We are very conscious of our environment and take a lot of steps to take care of the earth, such as recycling more than we throw in the trash, gardening,and eating only organic foods. Marigold Children's Garden is a place where children are loved and childhood is respected.
