Ratings & Reviews
I am surprised at the reviews below, honestly. My 5 year old went there all of this past school year (2013) for Pre-K and we were amazed at where she is at with reading and all other subjects. She just yesterday read 4 pages of green eggs and ham by Dr. Seuss, by herself, sounding out each word carefully. She can spell basic words just by sounding out, and can do basic math. She knows most of the alphabet in sign language and can tell you if any number is odd or even off the top of her head (kind of a neat trick at 5 years old! ha ha). We are very involved in all of our childrens' educations and all three of our older children are on honor roll, we think our 5 year old is on the same track thanks to Joy Academy.

But education isn't the only thing to consider. She loved the school! and truly loved her Pre-K teacher (and I didn't see anything worrisome on his Twitter? There is another twitter account under the same name that I can assure you is NOT him, that seems more like a pothead. I think they have them confused). Her teacher was strict, but always loving with the kids and he seemed to know each child's little quirks so well, and work with them. And I also felt that ALL the teachers, cared about my daughter and always greeted her with a joke and a smile every morning when we dropped her off. They were always understanding about schedule changes, etc. and even though we don't go to the church (and aren't even Christian, which they knew from the beginning), we felt welcomed and accepted by the whole school, never judged, and never ever felt like anyone's beliefs or politics were pushed on us. The pastor always had a smile and knew every kid by name, and the principal and his wife (a teacher there) were really open and fun people.

I'm sorry others had a bad experience, but we will always look back on Joy Academy fondly. Our daughter isn't going there next year only because we want her to be in the same school as her siblings. But we will always think of them if we need summer care etc.
This place should be shut down IMMEDIATELY!
Don't put your kids here! They yell at the children and treat them poorly. The two reviews below are so right. PARENTS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!
Their slogan for extended care says: ♥ Extended Day: where kids want to stay. ♥ More like: Extended Day: where kids should RUN from!
This "child care" is far from satisfactory. Check out the link below that lists complaints to the Dept of Human Services. Be informed. They call themselves "Christians." They are not.

There pre-K "teacher" is a pothead, and he isn't even certified to teacher. Please scroll through his Twitter account. You'll be amazed! And people actually PAY to leave their kids in this man's care!

The pastor (who is the principal's brother and whose roommate is the pre-K's "teacher") is overly involved in the school. But his political mindset clouds his better judgment.
