Compassionate CNA/HHA With Many Years Experience Caring For Those With Dementia & Alzheimer's

Avg response < 4 hrs
I am current on the MN Nursing Assistant Registry. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide & have many years' experience caring for the elderly. I started working as a Nursing Assistant when I was 16. Over the years I have worked in Nursing Homes and for Home care agencies. I prefer caring for clients in their home because I like the one on one care and having quality time without being rushed to provide compassionate care. I love getting to know my clients and hearing their life stories. I've cared for many clients with Alzheimer's and dementia including my father. For over 3 years he needed 24-hour care and I stayed with him at his place most of the time while taking care of him. I have also worked 24-hour live-in shifts caring for several clients with dementia. At 23 I bought my first house and moved my grandparents in when they needed full time care. I arrive on time. I am professional & kindhearted. I have a great sense of humor and a passion for care-giving.

Lynn took great care of my mom. She got her to take her medications which was not easy. She kept the house clean, helped mom get dressed and gave her showers, meals and provided companionship. She also assisted with physical therapy exercises. Will hire Lynn again if she is needed for other family members when they need help.

Part Time Care Giver

I am passionate for all people, but the elderly have a very special place in my heart. Having taken care of my parents for the last nine years, I have a great understanding of what the needs are for the person being taken care of and for the caregivers themselves. I love to get to know the people I work with, understand their passions and what makes their hearts smile and feel valued. I strive to understand their needs and make it my mission to make them feel comfortable, safe, cared for and valued. I care deeply and my goal is always to make the person I am with feel that. I love to laugh, talk about life, play games, cook, bake, enjoy new things. These are the things that I share with my clients. The people I work with know they are heard, cared for, valued, loved and that they are treated with the same tender-loving care and sensitivity that I poured into my parents. I have had the privilege of working working with other seniors also and have great references.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! Sylvia is a godsend to me and my family. I completely trust her and know that when my elderly father is with her, he is in amazing care. She helps him with exercises, takes him to run errands, and helps keep his life organized. But more than that, I know that he is truly enjoying her company. She goes above and beyond to understand his interests and find ways to brighten his days. Sylvia has a love of life that is infectious and makes my dad laugh throughout their times together. We couldn't be more happy that Sylvia is helping us out and making my dad's days better with each visit. Without hesitation, I would recommend her to anyone.

Khadi became a daily caregiver for my husband Ken in 2010 until his death in February 2015. Ken was diagnosed in 2004 with dementia caused by previous strokes, and over 11 years progressively failed. When I hired Khadi through a private home care agency in 2010, Ken was still walking, but by the time of his passing, she got him in and out of bed a couple of times daily by electric lift. Khadi attended to all his needs--bathing, dressing, feeding, changing, giving meds, helping get him ready and accompany us to appointments by way of Metro Mobility. There wasn't any work I asked Khadi to help me with, that she didn't do, like washing clothes and house cleaning. I trusted her completely and she became a good friend to us. Ken would smile when he saw she was the employee to care for him. She was a great emotional support to me and we could talk about almost anything. She is caring, unselfish and responsible, treating people with respect. She remains a good friend. I am indebted to her.
