I am writing in response to the "Mother" who made complaints about Discover and Share. I know exactly who this "parent" is because my child was in the infant room with hers! I am very saddened that you wrote such a negative review about this school. Truth be told, you spent WAY too much time in the room. I always thought it was strange on the occasions I would be in the room picking up my baby at the same time and you would bring in her dinner in a bowl, give it to the teacher and sit and watch the teacher feed your daughter dinner. Why don't you take your child home and feed her? There were many times that you were in the infant room when I walked in to pick up and were still there when I left. This was always between the hours of 5:30-6:15pm. You would think that after having your child in daycare all day, you would want to take her home and spend time with her. So you saying that they thought you were distracting? You probably were! They have a job to do and it was group daycare, not a one on one nanny. I was also witness to the bizarre questions you would ask the teachers about your child.... how much poop was in the diaper when it was soiled??? They give VERY detailed reports that go home each day and it always puzzled me how you sat here and drilled them on everything. The teachers were very loving and the teacher you are talking about that you did not like was amazing! The nicest lady. She was from another country so there was a bit of a language barrier sometimes, but nothing like you are stating. Saying that the owner was her "best friend"...are you saying this because they looked like they were the same nationality??? Shame on you. Anyways... my child is unfortunately no longer there, as I changed jobs and needed a daycare closer to my home in Frisco. But the year we spent there was very rewarding. I would recommend this school to anyone! *** If you go to the Child Care Licensing website, you can find negative reviews on EVERY daycare. Pay attention to what they are..... some of them are calls that the daycare makes themselves if a child gets hurt while at school. They are required to report everything. What is important is the "findings" once they have been investigated. That is what you need to read.

My child has been going to Discover and Share for the past 10 months (started at age 4 months). At the beginning, it was great. The teachers at the time took very good care of my infant and always followed my instructions but then the teachers changed. Recently, I brought up some concerns regarding one of the teachers and how she was handling my child. I had heard that this particular teacher was best friends with the owner but my assumption was that the school would put the interest of the children ahead of personal relationships. I was wrong. A Couple of days after I discussed these issues with the director, and she promised that they will be resolved, the owner met with me and told me that I was spending too much time in that room and was distracting the teachers. Also, she would be running a background check on me and I have to look after my child while I was in the room instead of the teachers. It was very clear that she was offended by the fact that someone noticed things and pointed out negative things about her operation. I realized then that the time I spent in the room was never an issue until I brought up my concerns about that teacher....interesting! That proved two points to me, firstly, the school's priority was to protect the teachers (or that one particular teacher) and not the best interest of children and their parents. Secondly, what are they trying to hide?!?!?! I would expect that they would invite me to spend as much time as I needed in order to make sure the issues have been resolved. Instead, they wanted to hide their dirty laundry and they would rather lose a client than receive negative feedback. Also, none of the issues I brought up were resolved. On the contrary, they continued as if nothing happened. That made me feel extremely uncomfortable and I decided to take my child out of there as soon as possible. A few months ago, I would have totally recommended that school. Now, and after I saw where their priorities were and how they handled parents' feedback, I'm absolutely confident that they are not the best place for my child.
I have searched the DFPS site and found that there were 11 reports logged against the school and that is pretty high. Enter the name of the school in the "Operation Name" and the zip code. You will get the results.
