Alabama Home Care Specialists, LLC is a locally owned and operated business based in Decatur, Alabama. It was created with one idea: we want to assist families and their elderly loved ones in maintaining their independence at reasonable prices, but with quality care.

Alabama Home Care Specialists employs both home care aides and CNAs. We also have an RN and LPN on staff that are available to help monitor your loved one's needs. Each employee is carefully screened using background, sex offender registry,and nurse aide registry checks. Each is required to submit a TB test and is required to have a valid drivers license and verifiable auto insurance.<br/><br/> Alabama Home Care Specialists provides a variety of elder care services, from homemaking services to personal care services, as well as services specifically targeted for seniors with alzheimer's disease or dementia. AHCS provides elder care 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week. AHCS works closely with most Long Term Care insurance companies, such as Genworth, Metlife, TransAmerica, New York Life, and many more. To find out more about our services and payment options, please call or email us.<br/><br/>Homemaking Services<br/><br/> Housekeeping - including, but not limited to : dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, sanitizing kitchen and bathrooms, changing linens, laundry, taking out garbage, and other miscellaneous household duties<br/><br/> Meal preparation - preparing meals daily, or as needed, to ensure your elderly loved one is maintaining a well-balanced diet; Home care aides will cater to your loved one's tastes and prepare a health-conscious meal that can be eaten immediately, or stored for an easy, reheatable option.<br/><br/> Errands - prescription pick-up, grocery shopping, pick up/drop off dry cleaning, and much more<br/><br/>Personal Care Services<br/><br/> Bathing - assist in bath or shower, shampoo, or bed bath<br/><br/> Dressing<br/><br/> Walk assist - including assist with walker or wheelchair<br/><br/> Transferring - from bed to chair, in and out of car, etc.<br/><br/> Toileting<br/><br/> Skin, nail and oral care<br/><br/> Eating assist<br/><br/> Assist with ongoing physical and/or speech therapy<br/><br/> Hoyer lift - experienced caregivers available<br/><br/> <br/>Companion Services<br/><br/>In many cases, no specific homemaking or personal care services are needed.
