Kids are always wanting to learn, and they are never afraid to ask questions, such as why? and how come? I have always admired this. Too often, it seems as though people stop asking all the questions they want to know the answers to as they get older, and I feel this is terribly unfortunate. I began volunteering as a junior camp counselor throughout the summer preceding my sixth grade year, and I continued to volunteer there throughout middle school. This led me to complete a total of 900 hours of community service. Furthermore, I began being paid baby sitter when I was 12 years old. The summer leading into my freshman year of high school I cared for a family with three little girls, ages 6 months, 3 years old and 4 1/2 years old. With that being said, I have had much experience looking after multiple kids of different ages at the same time for an extended time. Moreover, when I was 14 years old, I began volunteering at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, where I became "sitter trained" and "child-life trained," which was mandated in order for me to become a qualified, certified sitter according to the hospital's standards. I am also CPR, AED, & First Aid certified for infants, adolescents, & adults.
