We work with children ages 2 and half to 5 and a half. We are a tri-lingual school (Spanish, French, English) run by an experienced teacher. We offer full days filled with play and a challenging curriculum. After our program, your children will be beyond ready for Kindergarten! There are language-based activities each day of the week, where the children learn French or Spanish. We conduct project-based learning which allows the children to learn through their experiences and as part of a team. We teach children how to count, to understand what each number means, what it means to add and subtract and how to solve word problems. Our literacy curriculum is also challenging, we teach children letter sounds and common sight words, as well as blending and breaking down words so that they can fall in love with reading! We expose your children to handpicked books that will expand their knowledge and curiosity. Finally, we also offer chess, gardening, music, art, yoga, technology and playtime, your children will be in a well-rounded learning and joyful environment!

Reggio emilia
Preschool
OUR PHILOSOPHY Acclaimed as an exemplary model of early childhood education throughout the world, the Reggio Emilia approach to education is committed to the creation of conditions for learning that will enhance and facilitate children's construction of their own powers of thinking through expressive, communicative and cognitive languages. The philosophy of our center is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and is based upon the following principles that take place in the pre-primary schools in this city in northern Italy: Emergent curriculum expands upon the interests of children. Topics for deep study are captured from the talk of children, through community or family events, and the known interests of children. Teachers work together to come up with ideas about the possible directions of a project, the materials needed, and possible parent and/or community support and involvement. Projects take place as in-depth studies of concepts, ideas, and interests of the group. They may last one day, weeks, a month, or could continue throughout the school year. Teachers help children make decisions about the direction of study, together they research the topic, work with representational medium to demonstrate the topic and select the materials needed to represent the work. The Reggio Emilia approach calls for the integration of various medium as tools for development. Creations of concepts and hypotheses take place through various forms of representation such as print, art, construction, drama, music, puppetry, shadow play, and many other means. These are considered languages and are essential to children's understanding of their experiences and the world around them. Collaborative large and small group work is considered valuable and necessary to advance intellectual development. Children are encouraged to dialogue, critique, compare, negotiate, hypothesize, and problem solve through group work. Within the Reggio Emilia approach multiple perspectives promote both a sense of group membership and the uniqueness of self. Collaboration extends from the school into the community. The teacher's role is complex. Working as co-teachers, the role of the teacher is to be that of a learner alongside the children. The teacher is a researcher, a resource, a guide and a designer of the environment. Teachers carefully listen, observe, and document children's work. Teachers are committed to their own learning as well.

We believe children should have FUN! After all, even the experts agree that preschool age children learn most through play. These carefree years are so short, and soon the children will be exposed to a much more structured form of learning. During the month, many activities take place which help promote basic skills (letter & number recognition, color & shape recognition, large motor skills, small motor skills, etc.). Our mission is to teach the children higher order of thinking skills to become independent individuals. We work with families to create a solid foundation, so children can grow and develop healthy lifestyles. We believe that if you teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it. Proverbs 22:6 I accept newborn to 5 years old I incorporate a preschool curriculum into our daily activities for fun and to prepare the older children for school. Hours of Operation Monday - Sunday 24 hr Meals and Snacks are provided All SUBSIDIZED PROGRAMS ARE ACCEPTED

I am 22 years old. I have graduated EMT school and am also certified in CPR/Infant CPR and First Aid. I'm originally from Michigan and moved to California just last September with my partner. I went to Grand Valley State for 3 years switching from pre-med to therapeutic recreation until I finally realized that childcare is where my heart and soul belong. I have worked with kids for about 8 years, including helping my siblings with my nieces and nephew to being a nanny for several different families around Los Angeles County and several around the beach cities. I am comfortable with and have experience with all ages, mostly newborn-toddler, and also experience with twins/multiples. My partner is a behavior therapist for kids with Autism and so I have some experience with special needs as well. I have had wonderful experiences with the families I have worked for and keep a close relationship with the parents and the kids even after working for them. Right now I am trying to find the right family to build a relationship with and that I will be able to raise my own child around one day. I look forward to meeting new welcoming, accepting, and fun families!
