We provide developmentally appropriate activites for ages 6 weeks-12 years. We believe in hands-on learning through real life experiences. Your child will be encouraged to grow socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually at their own level. Your child will learn life skills such as: kindness, truthfulness, sharing, manners, and caring. We teach with hands-on learning centers that children love! Examples - housekeeping, restaurant play, dress up, process-oriented art and creative play, building blocks, quiet / reading area, manipulatives, literacy/writing, music & movement, science, sensory, puzzles, fine motor, and gross motor! We teach through thematic units, such as pets, farm animals, fruits&vegetables, friends, people we love, stars&moon, outside my window, bugs, insects&critters, 5 senses, bubbles&rainbows, safety, community helpers, the food we eat, America, and special holidays. We pull ideas from several different curriculums, based on the needs of the children in our care. We constantly look for new ways for the kiddos to learn through play! Occasionally, we take mini-trips and learning trips in and out of town. We use car seats/belts as required by law. We offer care for children with special needs. We do accept children if they are suffering from a minor, non-communicable illness, such as ear ache, slight cough, or teething fever. If there is a sign that the child is too ill to remain in care, parents will be called to pick them up. Lice/nits are NOT allowed. We offer balanced, nutritious meals/snacks that kids like! We even explore cooking with the kids! They love the sense of being a helper and "cooking" their own meals. We consider the children in our care as our own. We give a lot of time to communicating with our parents about their child. If we are doing something "neat", we like to text pictures to the parents throughout the day so they can enjoy it, as well! We are in the process of becoming certified and licensed. We do maintain state ratios, as safety is our #1 concern. Staff are trained in SIDS and Safe Sleep practices, medication administration, First Aid/CPR, and safe food handling. Background checks completed as well. The supervising teacher has a Master's degree with elementary and early childhood experiences, and is an independent national trainer for early childhood professionals.
