Hello! I am a recent college graduate looking for summer employment before I return to being a full-time student in the fall. I just graduated last week from The University of Alabama with a B. A. in Communicative Disorders. I will be returning to UA mid-August to begin graduate school in Speech-Language Pathology. My education gives me a vast knowledge base in child development, language development, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Language Delays, and nonnative English speakers. I am passionate about working with children and feel comfortable working with children with special needs. I am willing to learn and cater to each of their unique needs.
My experience in working with children is vast. I have been a summer nanny for a boy who is currently 11 and a girl who is currently 16 for the past three summers. I have provided meals, transportation all around the city of St. Louis, housekeeping, and all-day care for these children. Additionally, I have worked with children at Chesterfield Sports Fusion for six years now, surrounded by crazy kiddos all day and night! This school year, as well, I worked as a paid Title III ESL tutor for the Tuscaloosa County School System. Through this, I worked with children grades K-5 who were nonnative english speakers both in and out of the classroom individually and in various sized groups.
I am a huge animal lover and have no problem being around/caring for pets alongside children. I have my own safe, reliable transportation and am willing to transport kids in my own vehicle.
