Both will be going away to school in the fall. Having the children in our home has taught our kids about the growth and development of young children. It's awesome to watch our kids play and interact with the children. I look at it as practice for when they have their own families someday. The children I care for not only have fun while they are here but they are also learning. I teach using developmentally appropriate activities. I believe in hands-on activities where children can explore and be curious, coming up with their own questions about the theme we are learning about. We work on social and emotional skills, then as they get older we move onto colors, letters, numbers, and counting etc. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are provided daily. The children also have a napping schedule, 2-5-year-olds take a 2-hour nap in the afternoon and infants are as needed.
