I have had my home childcare business for 19 years in Woodridge. I am state licensed and First Aid/CPR certified. I can provide local school transportation. I have a very large playroom and provide many games, puzzles, toys, books, movies, and crafts for my kids. I have outdoor toys as well with a swing set and sandbox in a nice shady backyard. My children and I go on regular field trips to the library, local parks and to other special events occasionally. My rates are very affordable because if I were looking for childcare, that is what I would want. My name is Robin, and I have been providing home daycare in Downers Grove for 25 years. My husband had a roofing business so he spent a lot of time helping me during his slow times. Since he is now retired, we are licensed so we can do full-time childcare together. Every day there is active play, social skills, reading, games, puzzles, and/or arts and crafts. We offer the Carol's Affordable Curriculum preschool program for ages 3 years old - 5 years old for a nominal fee. We spend a lot of time outside in our fenced in backyard, weather permitting. We serve healthy well-balanced breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. This is a fun, loving, safe place where we nurture your children as if they were our own. Our hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We currently have two full-time openings.

With over twenty years of child care experience behind her Discovery Rainbow Home Daycare, my wife Jennifer started this in November of 2002. When she was younger, Jennifer started out helping her mom with child care in their home, eventually moving on to hold positions at various centers around the area and as a private nanny. Jennifer has also taught preschool and other children's classes at the Downers Grove Park District and is still asked to return to this day. When she started Discovery Rainbow, we lived in a two-bedroom apartment in Downers Grove and shared most of our living space with the daycare. Over the course of the last thirteen plus years, we have moved from apartment to town house, town house to our current home growing our business and what we could offer our clients and the children we care for each time.

Leaving a managerial position at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Jim started staying home and working full-time with the daycare in 2004. This was for business reasons as well as us expecting our first child and we both wanted to spend as much time with our children growing up as possible. We also wanted to provide the best possible care for our clients' children as well as our own and we decided both of us at home together would be the best answer to this goal.

We both just turned forty and have a son and daughter, ages eleven and nine, as well as a cute two-year old puppy, Jamie Grace, which is a Shiatsu/Maltese mix. We have no other permanent staff but do employ a third assistant in the summers & when needed.

We try to create a very open and friendly relationship with our daycare parents and refer to all our clients as our Daycare Family. We try to have a special event once a year where parents can meet and get to know each other and the other children. Many of our families become friends outside of daycare as well as in.

We know there is nothing more important in the world to you than your children and hope to make the decision to put your children in daycare a little easier. We strive to provide a safe and loving environment where your children feel comfortable and happy in their home away from home, while learning skills and making friends to last a lifetime.

My goal is to have small groups of children and take care of them as my own. I would love to have long term families and build relationships with them and the children. I would be willing to help anyone if short term or last minute care is needed. I'm not a typical one room daycare, the children are welcomed in several rooms so they feel welcomed and at home. I'm not a teacher but I love reading to the little ones, and playing puzzles, etc. Older children will feel at home too. Meals and snacks are included.

Creative Day is located in a previous school building in a quiet residential neighborhood. We utilize a full-sized gymnasium and outdoor fenced playground. We strive to create an environment that fosters intellectual development.

We are State licensed with a motivated staff who provide a high level of parent satisfaction. We are open 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. year round. We accept children on a weekly and/or daily basis and offer a discount for multiple siblings. Our structured program includes age appropriate activities in Art, Music, Math, Reading, Writing and Science. Our bright and spacious classrooms are filled with educational materials and toys.

We are located in downtown Lombard within walking distance to Helen Plum Library, Lilacia Park, the sprinkler park and Dairy Queen and we are less than two blocks from the Metra station for commuting parents.

I am a middle aged mom of two young adults. I have been doing home daycare for over 20 years. I have had the privilege of developing and maintaining rewarding relationships with all my clients. All my clients have been long term from infancy until they go on to school and a lot have remained in my care as needed. I will drive children to and from schools as long as its local. We are the "First TIme Camper" Specialists, our Discovery Camp is a nurturing program that is specifically designed for the child who has never been to sleepaway camp before. Our program is limited to less than 50 campers, all of whom are here for the first time. It is this attention to each child makes this program a success with nearly 93% of our campers wishing to return.

Swift Nature Camp is for boys & girls ages 6-15. Our focus is to blend traditional summer camp activities while increasing a child's appreciation for nature, science and the environment. Our educational philosophy is to engage children in meaningful, fun-filled learning through active participation. We focus on a child's natural curiosity and self-discovery. This Outdoors Camp is NOT School.

Our small size allows us to promote each child's personal development by providing fun, friendship and leadership in a supportive and noncompetitive environment. We build a child's character using our Tree of Values. Each cabin is named after a Value, such as, self-confidence, Teamwork, Leadership, Environmental Stewardship, and Persistence just to name a few. We believe the greatest part of camp is a child's personal development.

No matter what skill level or interests your children have, Swift Nature Camp has activities that allows them to excel and enjoy. All activities are promoted in a nurturing, noncompetitive atmosphere, giving each camper the opportunity to participate and have fun, rather than worry about results.

During our Explorer Camp (3wks) and Adventure Camp (6wks), campers participate in out-of-camp trips, such as biking, canoeing, backpacking and horse trips. This is the ultimate test of a camper's skill and knowledge. It's a reward to discover new worlds and be comfortable in them, whether the trip takes them down the Nemakagon River, a National Park Service Scenic River, or along the 1500 acre county forest contiguous to camp. These trips always create the best memories for our campers.
