Mary K's Day Care

76 Newton Ave Pittsfield, MA

2 mi

I have been in the child care business as a home educator for 32 years. I am looking to become a full time nanny working from 8 to 5 Monday through friday with paid health care and paid vacations. I have personal references as well as professional references. I also have an education in the fitness profession and have worked in my area as a personal trainer for 25 years and have taught children fitness classes. I now incorporate health and fitness into our curriculum. I am the mother of 3 grown children ages 38, 36, and 33 and a grandmother of 8 great children. I am from a family of 11 and came number 6 in the line up.
Lenox Children's Center provides quality childcare for ages one month through 8 years of age. The center has six classrooms in operation: an infant room, a young toddler room, and older toddler room, a pre-k room, a four year old classroom and a kindergarten ready classroom. We are open 7:30 to 5:30 Monday through Friday. The Infant Room is open 8:00-5:00. We calculate our monthly tuition bill by multiplying the daily rate times how many days the child comes and then multiply that number by 4.3 an average month. Tuition is due prior to the 1st of each month. There is also a $100 non-refundable registration fee. We focus on all areas of development every day; social/emotional, cognitive, language and fine and gross motor. The development of the whole child is our goal. We have a balance of indoor and outdoor time, individual and group activities, along with quiet and active times. Additionally, our day consists of a balance of child and teacher guided learning experiences. We utilize the Massachusetts Guidelines for Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers for our curriculum. Progress Reports are generated through Teaching Strategies GOLD and online assessment tool used to keep track of your child's progress and development which we share with you 3 times a year. I also encourage diversity and feel there would be a lot less hate in the world if children are exposed to the vast array of differences early in life. The two things I take pride in are respect and safety. Everyone needs respect, even infants. Additionally, I expect my staff to keep people's precious babies safe! As parents you need to be able to go off to work and not worry or wonder if your child is being taken care of. The staff are all trained in CPR and First Aid and many are working towards a degree in Early Education if they do not already have one. Each classroom also has at least one certified teacher through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
