Capitol Pet Sitters
PO Box 891,
I cannot remember a time in my life that I did not have a pet or two or five plus. As a kid I remember having snapping turtles, hamsters, snakes, dogs, cats, rabbits, and a pony... well, for one day. The pony wandered into my yard when I was five and I claimed him as my own. Needless to say the real owners came and retrieved my one-day pony. This was also the same time we lived next door to a woman who owned loads of snakes and reptiles - she even had a three foot crocodile walking around her house. I thank her for my lack of fear towards anything slimy or scaly. I went there everyday and played - I loved it.
From 1982-1986, while serving in the USAF, I had the unique opportunity to train and compete with military working dogs in the United States and United Kingdom. It was amazing to see how the two countries compared in their approach to training dogs. While enlisted, I worked and trained both attack and drug detection dogs. I have been fully trained in canine first aid and health assessment.
I am lucky that my son also has developed a deep love and compassion for animals. Our family currently consists of two Rat Terriers, a cat who thinks he's a dog and nine goldfish.
I have spent my life in a Law Enforcement career and have decided to return to working with animals as a full time profession. A Pet Sitting career was a natural choice as I believe in and use pet sitters myself. Sitters have kept our animals stress levels down. They have made me feel better on vacation or on long work days/nights, knowing that my four legged family is safe at home and being taken care of. I look forward to providing such an important service to you.
