My parents are in their 80s and need assistance with caring for my brother who has cerebral palsy. He is 49 years old, walks, can feed self, and functions at a 2-year-old level. He is very loving and like a small child can try to test boundaries. He responds well to persons that firmly, but kindly, redirect him and provide consistent boundaries. At home he requires minimal attention (plays in his room, watches TV, etc.). It takes no less than five minutes, and they don't need let out or anything. Just fed and taken care of. We're flexible on the rate, times, and almost everything except we can't have a smoker, someone with strong perfume, or anything crazy like that. It's not bird safe. We've had some bad experiences with some services around here so we'd like references if possible.
