My caregiving experience includes my current care for 2 children (in addition to my own), working for a private daycare (past) and children's ministries at church. I have a degree in social services and feel that I offer professional, yet personal care. I have current PA Childline and State Police background checks. I "retired" from social work in 2014 to care for my son. I am happy to support your formula or breastfeeding efforts, and welcome cloth or disposable diapering. I am a flexible caregiver and have used all these methods with my own son. I am also comfortable administering medications if needed, with your provision and instructions. We are a pet-free (except for a few fishies), non-smoking, no drugs (ever!), no firearms family. We have lived in Ambler approx. 8 yrs. We are active members of a Presbyterian church. My husband does work from home about 50% of the time as a freelance filmmaker, so he may be home during some care giving hours (though he is typically busy during the day). You are welcome to meet us both. I can refer you to a current customer so you can talk with them privately about their level of satisfaction with my care. Because I am a small, home daycare, I can be more flexible than traditional care. Though we will have agreed upon hours, if you happen to be running late one day, I can accommodate. I charge in 15 minute increments for care that goes beyond our agreed upon schedule. I do ask that you commit to a schedule, which means if you take holidays, vacation or if your child stays home due to illness, etc. you will be charged. I require that each child in my care be vaccinated according to the WHO/Center for Disease Control's immunization schedule. To protect little ones who may have other health needs, I require that parents submit an up-to-date vaccine schedule from the child's pediatrician every six months. This includes an annual flu vaccine and chicken pox vaccine. We are NOT a peanut/tree nut free home. Please discuss allergies with me. Guests use a Graco travel pack n' play, mini crib with a Naturepedic mattress or Joovy cot. We are pesticide-free outside. The Septa 94 line bus stop is at the end of our block, and the Ambler train station is <1/2 mile (10 min walk) away. I hope to meet you and your kiddos soon! Warmly, Meghan UPDATE: As of 01/2019, 1 infant slot, part time

We are a 4 star **** group childcare center. With a mixed age and small group size we are able to have close knit relationships with our children and families. All staff members are certified with CDA's/Degress along with adult/child/infant CPR trainings. We are flexible because we understand no job or salary is at a norm in these times. I m looking to welcome (3) children into my home for 30-50 hours a week at $10-$12 an hour. Ages welcomed are 2-6, (children who are not yet in school and have full days in need of care) Highlights of my Home Care: Child-Led Learning Letting the child being the initiator of their learning. I will have focused attention towards your child s interests, passions, and unique learning style and will be making strong efforts to bring any resources available to your child to facilitate their learning. And have fun doing so! I want to nurture and celebrate their natural sense of joy, wonder and belief in their own limitless potential. Emotional Support and Nurturance The most important aspect of childcare is connecting and meeting the emotional needs of children. I will create an environment for your child that allows them to be heard and express themselves freely without judgement. When they feel emotionally satisfied is when they are truly able to thrive and learn. Organic, Healthy, and Kid-Friendly Lunch and Snacks When it comes to picky eaters I know what I m dealing with. Children do not like to feel controlled when it comes to their diet, that s why I will take initiative in getting the children (even the very young ones) involved in the process. An example would be taking them to the farmers market and letting them pick the veggie that they would like to help me prepare, or finding ways to turn their favorite meals healthy with the best quality ingredients. Allowing choices helps children to feel included and empowered to eat healthy. *All included in the cost Weekly Fieldtrips As fulfilling as the indoor projects and playing will be, there s nothing quite like exploring! We will go on weekly outings to stimulate your child s mind and get natural sunlight. I am located right next to Cloverly Park, the Wissahickon River & Trails, The Zoo, The Touch It Children s Museum, and the Farmers Market. *All included in the cost Discipline - What sets me apart from most nannies is my way of dealing with negative behaviors. I believe in setting limits using gentle guidance instead of punitive punishments. I will never shame your child or give them time outs because I have a deep understanding that a child s bad behavior is simply them acting out a need that they are unable to communicate. Instead I will investigate the ro

I am very excited to be able to offer child care within my home. I have provided childcare since the age of 13 in many different capacities from babysitting to education to psychological development for all ages of children (infants through 21 years of age). After my undergraduate studies, I taught preschool in both Pennsylvania and Massachusetts for children ages 2-4. I was also employed for one year as a residential counselor at a residence for older children with special needs. While completing graduate school for a Master's in School Psychology, I was a full-time nanny for a family with two boys (ages 2 and 4) for two years. Most recently, I provided part-time summer care for two boys (ages 4 and 6) for three consecutive summers. Up until June 2014, for 12 years, I had been employed as a school psychologist in Delaware County working with special needs children and young adults (ages 3-21). For the past 2 years, I have been privileged to provide home care services to two families, each part-time but with overlapping days. The 3 children initially ranged in age from 1 to 3 years. They are currently 3 to 4 1/2 with the addition of a new sibling who is 8 months. One family will be transitioning out at the end of August and I am looking to offer my services again. My broad experience as a caregiver in many roles has prepared me well for my current job in the field of home-care and allows me to remain at home for a few years caring for my own two children. With all of my varied experiences, I have held many responsibilities in regard to direct care but have also been able to have fun and be creative. My favorite activities with children are cooking/baking, arts and crafts, reading and outdoor walks/runs. I have previously been certified in CPR and First Aid through my current job and have also had all the necessary security/background checks. I also have a clean driving record. In addition, my training as a school psychologist has given me a strong background in child development, behavior management, and social skills. I believe strongly in learning through play and child-directed play in order to develop their creativity and independence. In providing a safe and nurturing environment for my own daughter and son, I would do the same for any child in my care. A resume and references can be made available upon request. It is also important to note that we do have a very friendly Chocolate Lab as a family member!

Joe A. says "Andrea has watched my two girls for the past two years. It would be impossible for me to have been happier with the experience. Andrea is kind, flexible,...
