Ever wondered, "What is a Montessori school?" Then you've come to the right place! A Montessori school is a school that uses the Montessori educational philosophy, which is named after its founder, Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952). We are not a school but we are doing a montessori program that will teach children everyday life chores. Basically, every Montessori school student learns through interaction and direct engagement, rather than lectures, homework, and reward systems. Authentic Montessori educational practice helps children develop creativity, problem solving, critical thinking, time-management skills, [and] care of the environment and each other. It can prepare them to contribute to society and to become fulfilled persons. The basis of Montessori practice in the classroom is mixed age group (3-11 ages in one class), "Robin's Nest have multi-age classrooms, mixing children of varying ages so that younger students can learn from and work together with their older peers. In turn, the older students can use their interactions with their younger peers to reinforce concepts they've already learned. Combined with Montessori practice and Meditation, Art, movement, Music, modeling, painting, plants, baking, singing, learning about the environment (fall, leaves, winter, Animals) kids engineering and mathematics.

Mom's looking for a fun, loving, and safe place for your children while your at work; look no further! My name is Meagan and I live in Waterbury CT (Bunker Hill). I am a stay at home mom and have two children of my own, H (2 years) and C (4 months). I am starting a small daycare of my own for $40 dollars per child a day. We live in a safe neighbor hood and have a child friendly home. My daycare will have a structured day - with daily activity's such as reading, songs, 2 snacks throughout day ( I can provide), lunch I can provide ( I can also provide ), nap time, outdoors time, and more! I can send a detailed daily schedule if you are interested in the daycare! I also have an iphone and you can facetime your child at anytime during the day if wanted! -Discounts will be given to more than one child in the same family (first child $40 second $30 per day) -I am able to help with the potty training process! -Depending on the situation I can provide breakfast - normally not dinner - but if something comes up I am flexible -I will meet with parents before starting childcare to let you see our home and meet myself, my husband, and children. -This is a small daycare that will not grow among a certain amount of children so you will be assured your child will get the attention they deserve / need! ** A little bit about myself - I have a bachelors degree in Art / Design from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids MI. I have taken courses in early childhood education and was President of the Early Childhood Education Club at Aquinas College for 3 years. I have a lot of experience with children and as a mother myself I have standards on how I would want my children to be treated in a daycare setting and that is exactly how I will treat your children. I have been married for two years now and have a very loving marriage and we have built that love into our family. Please contact me if you are interested! I am taking children ASAP but will stop after a certain amount.

Responsibilities As a childcare provider I was responsible for a variety of duties connected with children's day: 1. starting from waking them up and fulfilling all morning routine; 2. preparing breakfast and lunches for school; 3. putting the children on the bus, receiving them off the bus or picking up from school; 4. helping with homework, providing afternoon snack 5. helping with bedtime routine and bathing; My duties included also childrens' laundry, driving to and from places we were visiting in a free time, cleaning after them, picking up the toys, giving the medicine, helping with potty/toilet-training, assist with dressing and sometimes shopping, etc. I was responsible for 4 to 6 children in an age range starting at 3 (5 at the present) through 5 (7 present), 7 (9 present; diagnosed ADHD) and 9 (11 present) and sometimes additional 12 (soon 14) and 14 (soon 16) of their step-brothers. Accomplishments Most of the things and organization of the time and entertainment was dependent on me. I was consulting the details with the parents and waiting for confirmation, however most of the ideas came out from me. I was building the day around what I was informed of that the kids have to be present at/signed up for and very often happened to entertain 3 children while the other one was taking a class. Children learnt to be very obedient with the time and we still keep on improving this skill and good manners. Skills Used Flexibility; patience; being understanding and organized; creativity; ability to discipline as needed; engaging in performed activities and games; longanimity; explaining and being just; honesty.
