Our Philosophy We believe that your child’s most formative years are now. We feel that it is important to foster their skills as a basis to build upon as they go through life. We also feel that it is our obligation to promote positive self esteem. We believe that each child is a unique person with an individual pattern and timing of growth as well as individual personality, learning style and family background. All children have special needs; a quality educator identifies those needs and nurtures them without making the child feel different from his/her peers. We believe that parents and educators are partners in providing a stable and appropriate environment for our children. We encourage active learning through organized play, hands on exploration, loving interactions and fun. Age appropriate and child initiated activities are planned and presented by our professional staff. We believe that the love, understanding and care that your child receives from each staff member will reinforce a positive self image. Our staff will treat each child with respect and dignity; in doing so, we will teach the children to behave and respond in a positive manner. Planet Kids INC employs experienced and well trained staff. In addition, the staff has been trained on CPR, First Aid, COVID-19, and blood borne Pathogens, as well as positive discipline techniques. Planet Kids is a licensed facility that meets and exceeds Washington State requirements. We are certain that you will be pleased with the love, care, nurturing and safety that is provided for your children. It is our mission to provide a stimulating environment. This is accomplished by implementing curriculum to enhance fine and gross motor skills, social/emotional skills, language development, self help skills, the ability to play cooperatively with others, positive self esteem, and creative development.

I am a licensed Early Learning Childcare Provider with a lifelong passion for nurturing children as if they were my own. My philosophy centers on creating a warm, home-like environment where children can thrive. I provide space for children to learn, explore, and grow in a setting that is healthy, happy, and safe. I believe in fostering each child’s individuality, offering gentle guidance and positive reinforcement along the way. I strongly encourage open communication with families and practice an open-door policy to support a trusting and collaborative relationship with parents and guardians. We enjoy a variety of fun activities from cozy pancake breakfasts, to hands-on arts and crafts that spark creativity and much more. We take regular walks to the nearby park for fresh air and active play. Our preschool learning time includes early literacy, numbers, and themed activities that introduce concepts in a playful way, like our weekly letter bag show and tells. We also love to par-tay with seasonal and themed parties that bring our little community together for laughter and excitement!

Herbal Madre's Holistic Play School

503 E Lacrosse Ave Spokane, WA

Herbal Madre's Holistic Play School is located in Tigard, Oregon, right off of 217, near the Washington Square Mall. I am a play based preschool for children ranging in age from around two to four. Because children develop at different ages, I do not require toilet training. Please dress your children in comfortable clothing and play shoes. I encourage you to send along an extra set of clothing as we do tend to get dirty and wet! This is a in home preschool (currently apartment based) providing a sense of community and a inviting environment where play and learning meet. I am a homeschooling mother of three. I am CPR/first aid certified, have my food handlers card, and am working on my certification in early childhood development. My background includes working as a herbalist, birth doula work, working as a midwife's assistant, employed as a nanny, as well as owning and operating a daycare that utilized my beliefs in attachment parenting. Each day we start with free play, so that I can greet each child as they arrive, make sure they are settled and happy, and all the children have time to play by themselves or with others if they so desire. There are many activities for the children to engage in, such as puzzles, books, art, dress up, building supplies, and imaginative play. There is also times for baking, helping in the kitchen and crafting. After everyone has arrived and had time to play, we join each other for circle time, and sing songs, play games and tell stories. Sometimes no one is feeling inclined for stories, songs or games, and we will choose to do yoga as a group. We make time for outdoor play everyday, we have a back porch that has chalk, a water table, buckets, cups, shovels, dirt, water, measuring cups and more for exploring and getting dirty. There is also a lovely large grassy yard filled with trees that we use often for running, digging, climbing, games and so many other activities. Lunch time is so much more than eating and nourishing our bodies. We use this time to build our feeling of community and to grow friendships. We set the table together, help prepare food together, begin conversation skills, and use this time to learn about each other and ourselves. During our day we will also have a morning snack, potty breaks, songs, and lots of stories.
